Chef Tyler Slade is owner/ chef of several restaurants including 10 Market, A chef’s kitchen, in Beaufort SC. After several restaurant positions paved the path, the native Vermonter graduated from the acclaimed New England Culinary Institute with a full bachelor’s degree, having received rigorous classic French culinary training along with extensive business and internship credentials.
Chef Tyler honed his craft on Martha’s Vineyard along with several other New England locales before landing in Asheville, NC. There, he worked his culinary wizardry for nearly 6 years at the highly regarded Posana before joining with his dad to create his top rated restaurants in Beaufort.
Tyler is known for his depth of flavor and creative layering, while maintaining a sense of delicious approachability for his guests. He is a passionate collaborator and a culinary storyteller whose chapters will be written together with his diners for many moons to come.
Rick Slade has had successful careers in interior design and as a creative director in corporate America. He fell in love with Habersham over a decade ago and is thrilled to partner with son Tyler, to bring a new element to this special community.

Ryan Weaver was born and raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. As a young boy he spent his weekends playing soccer or in the kitchen cooking the weeks meals with his mother. He began his restaurant career at age 20 working his way into serving and bartending. At age 23 Ryan moved to Wilmington, North Carolina, were he took a job as a pizza cook. He soon rose to general manger of the now infamous Slice of Life. It was then that Ryan realized his passion for cooking.
He lobbied for jobs in the cities’ best restaurants in order to hone his craft, diligently rising all the way to an executive chef position. 3 years later Ryan found himself in Asheville, NC to be closer to his son. This is where he met Chef Tyler, working side by side night after night at the top rated Posana. They talked about their passions for food and music… and that’s where our story begins to unfold.
Chef Fenix Nelson; a native Californian and culinary renaissance man. Making touch landings as sous, executive chef and pastry chef from San Francisco to Madrid, and connecting with Chef Ryan in Wilmington NC, Fenix brings his artistic presence to Habersham as part of our team of culinary storytellers. We hope this part of his journey will feel like "home", as it does for the rest of us.
